A 7-year-old boy is being treated under intensive care after falling from his 10th-story condo in Hanoi on Tuesday.
The incident happened at around 4:45 p.m. Tuesday at the NO4A Apartments on Linh Dam Peninsula in Hoang Mai District.
The boy was at home alone and the accident happened about an hour after his father went out and locked him inside, local media reported.
Witnesses said the boy felt through the metal roof of a café on the ground floor and breaking a granite table.
“His legs hit the table and a chair in the fall,” a witness said.
The boy was immediately rushed to Viet Duc Hospital.
The NO4A Apartment has 11 stories. The balcony’s wall where the boy felt is about 1 meter high.
Local media have reported about many cases of children falling from apartments due unbarred windows and balconies.
In March, a 5-year-old boy fatally felt off from the 6th floor of the Viet Hung Apartments in Hanoi. His parents were out doing morning exercises when the accident happened.
