Police in Ho Chi Minh City’s Phu My Hung urban area Thursday handed over six Koreans and a Cambodian they had arrested for gambling to the city’s criminal police for further investigation.
On Sunday they had caught the seven red-handed playing poker in a rented apartment in Hung Phuoc building.
Another Korean man, Seo Seung Hyun, who has rented the apartment since December, was interrogated for his role.
Hyun, 36, has allegedly organized the gambling, which is illegal in Vietnam, for a month now, the police said, adding that most of the gamblers were Koreans.
They seized around VND21 million (US$1,000) in cash and 131 credit and ATM cards from the scene.
