A Ho Chi Minh City court Tuesday sentenced six members of a gang that produced crystal methamphetamine to up to 30 years in jail.
The gang had produced 1.5 kilograms of meth and sold it for VND1.2 billion (US$53,800) in 2011.
The gang leader, Pham Duc Loc, 58, got 22 years for producing and possessing narcotics while Dao Kim Ngoc, 53, got 30 years for producing, possessing and trading narcotics.
The other four were sentenced to seven to 20 years in jail.
One of them, Luc Gia Khanh, who got 15 years, was sentenced to death by a court in 2013 for producing and smuggling 100 kilograms of meth together with his family members in nearby Long An Province.
Khanh, 29, spilled the beans on the HCMC gang after that verdict.
