At least six people were injured after a 400-kilogram buffalo escaped from a slaughterhouse in Binh Duong Province in southern Vietnam and attacked people on the street.

Le Duy Hien, 38, owner of the slaughterhouse at An Tay Commune in Ben Cat District, said a worker, Hoai, was attacked by the animal Saturday morning when he was taking it to the slaughterhouse.

It escaped and crossed the Thi Tinh River to Thoi Hoa Commune. Hien chased after the animal and was injured in his face, hand, and chest, which required 30 stitches.

The buffalo went on to attack two others on National Highway 13 in Tan Dinh Commune.

It then reached Thu Dau Mot town where it attacked Vo Van Gia and his wife who were on a motorbike. The couple suffered minor injuries.

After running 30 kilometers, the buffalo was finally found in a grazing cattle herd in the town's Dinh Hoa Ward.

Police officers arrived to prevent it from attacking more people.
