Disassembled parts of a rifle were found in an express mail package bound for Hanoi, officials at Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat Airport said Sunday in the 5th such incident here in less than a month.
The gun components were discovered when the package, shipped through Kerry TTC Express, was scanned at the airport on Friday evening.
The Aviation Security Center said its staff had found four other express mail parcels containing weapons since Dec. 20 in Tan Son Nhat Airport, all of which north headed north.
Three of them had a gun each. The other, a Yamaha guitar, concealed a rifle, a granade and five bullets. The senders, two men in Ho Chi Minh City, were arrested later.

On December 20, Tan Son Nhat security team found out a gun inside what should be called the most artistic parcel among the series of illegal weapon shipments, a black Yamaha guitar.
The officers discovered a grenade, a rifle and five bullets inside the guitar after scanning it.
Two “guitarists” were arrested two days later when they attempted to pick up the instrument after being told it couldn't be shipped.
Vietnam has very strict gun laws. Personal possession and trade of guns are prohibited.
