5 die in lime kiln collapse in northern Vietnam

A lime kiln collapsed in Hai Duong Province Sunday, killing two sons of the owner and three hired workers.
The accident happened at around 2 p.m. when they were inside Nguyen Van Van’s kiln, repairing it.
Van’s son Nguyen Thanh Luan, his adopted son Tran Van Dung and Tran Van Dung, Nguyen Van Vi and Truong Van Buoi were killed.

It took more than two hours for local residents and rescuers to move the rubble and extricate their bodies.
Van said business has been slow recently and he had suspended operation of the kiln 10 days ago for repairs.
The police are investigating.
Last November an old lime kiln under reconstruction in nearby Hai Phong city collapsed and killed three workers.
