A four-year-old girl died Saturday after falling out of a 15th floor apartment window in Ho Chi Minh City's Nha Be District, and it is thought the tragic accident occurred when she attempted to catch a falling Ipad.
It happened at around 11:30 am at the Phu My Thuan apartments in Phu Xuan Commune, online newspaper VietNamNet reported.
The victim, identified only as L.A., was the daughter of a Singaporean man and Vietnamese woman, whose identities have not been released.
According to the police, the parents were away and A's grandmother had taken another child to a neighbor's apartment when the accident happened.
The grandmother, identified only as T, returned in a few minutes and found her granddaughter missing and the windows open. She spotted the child lying motionless on the ground below.
Officers said the girl may have been trying to grab a falling Ipad when she fell. An Ipad with a broken screen was found next to her body.
Investigations are continuing.
