Four members of a family died of severe burns in the south central province of Ninh Thuan after their house burned down last week, newswire Dan Tri reported Tuesday.
At around 10 p.m. on August 29 the fire started in the house of Phan Kim Hung, 31, of Phan Rang town when his family was sleeping.
After neighbors discovered the fire, they broke the front door and carried out the four members of the family.
But by then Hung, his mother Tran Thi Bui, 67, wife Nguyen Thi Gai, 29, and son Phan Van Hieu, 6, were seriously burned.
They were rushed to Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh for treatment.
Hieu died within a few hours, and Hung died on the evening of August 30.
Bui and Gai succumbed to their injuries two days later.
The Ninh Thuan police are investigating the cause of the fire.
