4 killed, 1 injured in motorbike accident on Vietnam highway

Four young men were killed and another was seriously injured in a motorbike accident in the south central province of Quang Ngai on Thursday.
At around 11pm, a motorbike carrying Nguyen Thi, 22, Le Van Tu, 23, and Nguyen Duy Thanh, 24, crashed head-on into another motorbike carrying Le Van Thuong (age not known) and Ho Tan Toan, 20 on National Highway 1A in Nghia Thuong Commune, Tu Nghia District.
Both motorbikes were reportedly speeding.
The five men were thrown from the bikes.
A truck traveling towards the site could not stop and struck one of the five, sending his body flying some 30 meters down the road.
Tu, Thanh, Thuong and Toan died on the spot. Thi was severely injured.
The accident caused gridlock on the highway until 1am Friday.
Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
