Three high school boys and a teen street vendor were burnt after a mini gas tank of the vendor exploded in the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong on Wednesday evening, Tuoi Tre reported.
Le Duc Hiep, 18, Nguyen Trong Ky and Dinh Minh Sang, both 17, of Truong Chinh High School in Dak Lap District reportedly went out on Christmas Eve and stopped at the roadside to buy fried meat balls from a traveling cart.
While they were waiting for the vendor named Huynh Thi Mo, 16, to prepare the dishes, the mini gas tank used to cook the food abruptly exploded.
All of the four were burnt and passed out. Debris from the cart was thrown into the air.
Nearby residents rushed the victims to hospital. They sustained burns on their faces.
They have recovered and are still being treated for the burns.
Mo said she bought the gas tank at a local market.
The accident is being investigated further.
