In apprehending Nguyen Van Phi, Vo Van Luu, both 19, Hoang Sang The Xieu, 22, and Ngo Thanh Tuan, 35, they were helped by police in Ninh Thuan Province, where the men are based.

They had stabbed Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Thien Loc on the night of July 31, inflicting multiple injuries, including perforations in the intestines and cut tendons in the hands.
