Police in the central province of Thua Thien Hue have announced they arrested four members of a ring that allegedly trafficked over 3.3 kilograms of heroin from nearby Nghe An Province.
According to police, the ring was smashed on Monday when they caught the four suspects transporting 181 grams of heroin along with 15 tablets of synthetic drugs on two motorbikes.
The suspects later told police that since July last year they and five others, who are their relatives, ran a syndicate that brought drugs from Nghe An's Tuong Duong District to Hue Town, where they would distribute them to local "retailers."
The ring managed to smuggle more than 3.3 kilograms of heroin before being busted, the suspects said.
Police said they have summoned others who were allegedly involved in the ring for questioning.
The case is being investigated.
