3 killed, 26 injured in Vietnam mountain highway crash

Three people died and 26 others were injured after a tank truck carrying asphalt crashed into a bus on a mountain pass in the northern province of Hoa Binh on Monday.
At around 4 p.m. the truck was going downhill on Thung Khe Mountain Pass in Mai Chau District, one of the most dangerous sections of National Highway 6. The driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the bus coming from the opposite direction.
Both vehicles overturned after the crash.
The truck burst into flames, with asphalt pouring all over the street.
Around 20 passengers were flung out of the bus; some got stuck inside with multiple injuries.
Three people died at the scene. Twenty-six others, including the drivers, were injured.
The crash caused serious congestion on the highway until the evening.
According some eyewitnesses, the truck's brake system may have failed.
Further investigations are ongoing.
