Three workers were injured after fire consumed a South Korean-invested company at the Linh Trung 3 Export Processing Zone in the southeastern province of Tay Ninh Tuesday.

The fire started at the warehouse of Phu Quang Ltd Co., which specializes in manufacturing and processing foam, at around 5:40 p.m.

Workers of the company said they heard an explosion from the warehouse, which soon later turned into a sea of fire as it contained flammable materials.

Hundreds of workers panicked and rushed out of the building.

Firefighting police quickly arrived at the scene but it wasn't until 8:30 p.m. that the fire was completely extinguished.

Three male workers suffered burns, two of them seriously.

They are being treated at Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.

It is estimated that the fire claimed damages worth hundreds of billions of dong.

Initial investigations showed the fire may have been caused by a gas explosion.
