Three Israeli tourists were severely injured after a bus upturned while traversing a mountain pass in the south central province of Khanh Hoa early Friday morning.
The accident happened at 4 a.m. when a sleeper bus belonging to the Cuc Tung Transport Company in Khanh Hoa upturned on National Highway 1A along the Co Ma Mountain Pass in Van Ninh District.
Three Israeli nationals, whose identities have not been released, were rushed to a local hospital for treatment after sustaining serious injuries.
Around 10 other foreigners sustained minor injuries, according to Tuoi Tre newspaper.
There were 30 tourists from Denmark, Belgium, the UK, the US, Israel and France, as well as 10 Vietnamese tourists on the bus.
The bus left the central city of Hue, en route for Khanh Hoa, driven by Nguyen Van Khuong, 44.
The upturned bus occupied almost the entire road, causing several hours of traffic congestion.
Local police arrived at the scene to regulate traffic on the highway.
The cause of the accident is being investigated.
