Police in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong on Friday said they had arrested three men on suspicion of stealing dogs, Tuoi Tre reported.
At around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday a team of police officers in Lam Dong’s Cat Tien District signaled a car to stop.
The driver of the car, with a Binh Phuoc Province license plate, ignored the request. He crashed into a parked police patrol car and sped up to flee.
Police officers managed to catch the car and three men inside one and a half hours later.
They seized two dead dogs, a handmade wooden gun and some equipment used by dog thieves.
The men, aged 26, 27 and 35, told police they drove the car to a rural village at around 1 a.m. the same day and stole the two dogs.
They confessed that between December 20 and 29 they had also stolen 23 dogs in Lam Dong and transported them to Binh Phuoc in the car.
