An unidentified person who took a US$224,000 BMW for a test drive in Da Nang Sunday totaled its front after crashing into the median strip and knocking over a signpost and a medium-sized tree.
The crash happened at around 4:30 p.m. when the BMW Series 730Li was being driven on Nhu Nguyet Street near Thuan Phuoc Bridge and the driver apparently lost control.
No one was harmed, including the driver, as four front airbags inflated.
The test drive was held by a BMW showroom in Ho Chi Minh City for potential customers in Da Nang.
The wrecked car was later towed out for transport to HCMC for repairs.
