At least two workers died and seven others were injured when an underground tunnel at a power plant construction site in central Vietnam collapsed Sunday.
The accident happened at around 4:20 pm at the Nam Pong Hydropower Plant in Nghe An Province's Quy Chau District.
Seven workers were at the spot when the accident happened, VnExpress reported.
Lao Dong newspaper quoted Colonel Nguyen Huu Cau, deputy director of the Nghe An police, as saying that workers were setting off explosives when the tunnel collapsed.
Two workers died on the spot while seven others, including one Chinese, were seriously injured, the paper reported.
The 30 MW power plant has been under construction since 2010 at a cost of VND750 billion (US$36 million), and will go on stream in the first quarter of next year.
