Two men have been arrested in Lang Son city for allegedly attacking traffic police officers who asked them to take a breathalyser test.
Le Minh Duc, 28, and Hoang Van Son, 20, are likely to face charges of preventing government officials from executing their duties.
The incident occurred on June 24 when Duc was pulled over by two traffic police officers for driving a motorbike without a helmet.
When they were told to take a breath test, Duc suddenly kicked Sergeant Major Trinh Le Cuong and attacked Captain Hoang Hoa Thien, news website VnExpress reported.
Meanwhile, Son and several others drinking at a nearby eatery joined in to attack Thien.
Police officers, who were dispatched to the spot soon, arrested Duc and Son.
At the police station, Duc and Son confessed they had been drinking at the eatery on Hung Vuong Street.
Duc and Son said they had attacked the officers because they were drunk and lost self-control.
