Police in the southern province of Binh Duong Friday took into custody four people for allegedly producing and trading synthetic drugs in two separate cases last month.

The Di An town police said they found methamphetamine and Ketamine hydrochloride, or Special K, when raiding the rented house of Ngo Van Nghia, 29, on October 24.

They later arrested Tran Thi Nhung, 18, and Luong Phuong Thanh, 25, who allegedly delivered the drugs for Nghia.

Special K is a hallucinogen commonly used as an animal tranquilizer, but it is also popular with drug users, usually snorted.

The same day they also caught Nguyen Mai Luyen, a scrap trader, selling drugs to addicts.

They found many containers of sulfuric acid and acetone, both synthetic-drug precursors, and a notebook describing methods for producing meth at his place.

He told the police that he first tried to make meth on October 22 but did not succeed until the next day when he managed to produce 400 grams.
