Two children, who were seriously injured in a fatal car-motorbike crash in the central city of Da Nang last week, have recovered.
Tran Trong Minh, 8, and his sister Tran Khanh Linh, 6, now can eat and talk after one week of treatment.
Their mother Le Thi Van Khanh, 31, and two others were killed in the crash that occurred at around 5:30 p.m. on July 13.
The seven-seater driven by Dinh The Hiep, a 38-year-old officer of the Vietnam Navy's 3rd Regional Command stationed in Da Nang’s Son Tra District, hit two motorbikes on Thuan Phuoc Bridge.
Dinh Quoc Long, 57, who was driving a motorbike and his wife Tran Thi Thai, 54, died on the spot.
Khanh, who was driving the motorbike with her son and daughter Minh and Linh on the back seat, was also killed.
Thai, Khanh and Minh were thrown off their vehicles and fell from the height of around 30 meters down to a road below.
Minh, the boy, was seriously injured and rushed into a hospital together with his sister.
The car and the bikes were badly damaged after the crash.
The police of Hai Chau District said Hiep, the car driver, was drunk when he caused the crash.
Hiep had been handed over to military authorities for investigation.
