A 16-year-old boy has turned himself in, saying that he killed another boy in front of the latter's school after an argument, police in the southern province of Tien Giang said Monday.
Huynh Thien Quang told police that he had used a built-in nail file inside a metal nail clipper to stab the victim on his shoulder at around 11:30 a.m. after he had just left school.
The victim, identified as Thai, 15, succumbed to uncontrolled bleeding on the way to hospital. Doctors said the stabbing had cut a main artery.
Police believed the two had an argument before the shocking attack, but it's unclear what had been said between them.
Tran Trong Dinh, headmaster of the Phu Phong High School where Thai attended as a senior, said that the victim was a good student.
“He was a good student and was enthusiastic in many activities of the school,” Dinh said, adding that Quang used to study at the same school, but he dropped out before finishing 9th grade.
The investigation into the case is ongoing.
