Police in the central Vietnamese province of Ha Tinh said Tuesday they rescued a 15-year-old girl who had been held in a restaurant and forced into sex work.
The police arrested Le Thi Huong, the restaurant owner, who said her son Le Van Thang abducted girls and made them work as prostitutes.
The police had received a complaint from local residents on Monday night, and rescued the girl an hour later.
They found her locked in a room.
Identifying her as only P., they said she was from the mountainous district of Tuong Duong.
Investigations are continuing.
Involving children aged between 13 and 16 in sex work carries a sentence of seven to 15 years.
