At least 11 people were injured when a car plowed through a crowd in front of the international terminal at Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat Airport on Tuesday night.
After ramming into the crowd, the black Audi crashed into two cars and two billboards before veering into the other pavement.
Witnesses said the car was picking up Ho Ngoc Ha, a famous singer, when the accident happened.
Driver Nguyen Duy Tan, 25, told local news agencies that he found the car sliding when he was parking it in a pick-up lane. He said he attempted to stamp on the brake, but mistakenly used the accelerator.
Tan was first suspected of being drunk, but police has rejected this, news website VnExpress reported.
Investigation continues.
Ha refused to comment on the accident, but expressed her shock on her Facebook page.
The singer was reported to have visited the victims at hospitals.
