Fire razed parts of a slum in the southern province of Dong Nai on Saturday night, burning down 11 houses completely.
There were no casualties in the fire, local officials said.
Residents said the fire started at around 6:10 p.m. in a house far down an alley in Hoa Binh District. It soon spread to other houses which were mainly built of wood.
As the alley is only two meters wide, it was difficult for fireffighters to reach the houses. All fire trucks had to park 70 meters away from the scene.
The fire was put out two hours later. One house apart from the 11 completely gutted was badly damaged.
Police said they are investigating the cause of the fire.
