A teenager in the southern coastal province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau stabbed a man to death Monday in the parking lot of his school, the Tuoi Tre newspaper reported.

Seventeen-year-old Nguyen Thanh Phi, a 10th grader, stabbed Mai Duy Khanh through his heart with a small knife after receiving several slashes from the latter.

Khanh, 19, had been asked by his younger brother, a 12th grader at the school, to take care of Phi after two of them got a fight.

Aware of the situation, Phi armed himself with the knife, inflicting wounds that took the latter's life on the way to hospital.

The student told his family about the killing and gave himself up to the police shortly after.
