Police in the north central province of Thanh Hoa arrested early Sunday around 100 people for allegedly using illegal drugs in a discotheque.
They organized a sudden raid of the Dragon Club in Sam Son town at around 1:30 a.m. and found the people in a "highly stimulated state" amid deafeningly loud music.
They found some drugs suspected to be heroin and methamphetamine.
The 100 customers present then were taken to a police station for questioning.
Under Vietnamese law, people caught using illicit drugs are not subject to criminal charges; they are fined or admitted to rehab centers.
