Authorities in the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong are considering disciplinary measures against ten local officials who have allegedly used fake high school diplomas for decades.
Tran Dinh Manh, the Party secretary at Tuy Duc District, on Monday said that the ten officials are holding key positions in the Quang Tan Ward government, including the deputy chairman of the government and the chief of the local police station.
A council, which is in charge of verifying profiles of party members for the upcoming national congress, earlier this month discovered that none of the ten officials had graduated from high school.
“They have already withdrawn themselves from the local Party committee,” said Manh. “We will not assign them to key positions in the local government anymore.
“Then we will send them to high school again and assign them to suitable positions after that, considering the fact that they have served the local government for decades.”
