A woman died in the southern beach town Vung Tau on Thursday after the taxi carrying her veered off the street and ran straight into the rocks on the beach.
The 22-year-old woman died at a hospital while the driver, 29, is still under treatment for brain injury following the crash.
A police officer said the driver lost control of the vehicle at around 3:30 a.m. The car then climbed over the sidewalk and ended up on a rocky beach.
The taxi company, which was not identified, had the car craned up three hours later.

The car crash happened early in the morning and did not hurt anyone on the beach.
