A bus driver died and seven passengers were injured in a massive three-bus crash in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong early Tuesday.
The crash happened at around 2 a.m. on National Highway 20 through Lam Dong’s Da Huoai District.
A Thanh Buoi Company's sleeper bus was traveling on the highway, heading for Ho Chi Minh City, when the driver Nguyen Kim Quyet spotted an overturned truck on the right side of the road.
The truck was involved in an earlier crash with another truck at around 5 p.m. on Monday. But somehow it was not towed away from the crash site.
No warning sign was erected.
Driver Quyet slowed down to avoid hitting the truck.
Another bus of Phuong Trang Company, which was traveling behind the first bus, could not stop in time and crashed into the Thanh Buoi's one.

The third bus, also of Phuong Trang, then hit the second bus from behind.
The collision killed the driver in the third bus, 47-year-old Bui Huu Tran Khanh, and caused the second bus to plunge into the roadside and hit a utility pole.
Seven passengers on the second and third buses were injured. They are now being treated at a local hospital.
All the three sleeper buses were badly damaged after the crash.
The crash caused traffic congestion in the area until 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Police are still investigating.
