1 Dutch dead, 3 injured in Vietnam car accident

A Dutch man was left dead and three of his countrywomen injured when a 16-seat car overturned on a highway in the south central province of Khanh Hoa Monday.


The car belonging to local travel company Asia Adventures was reportedly traveling on National Highway 1A in Cam Ranh Town when it plunged into a street barrier and overturned, Vietnam News Agency reported.


The deceased was Rppeber Sgen Neijenhof, 58, who suffered a brain injury.


Three Dutch women known as A jide Jon, 65, Mfchoppen, 63, and Rpgall Ilra, 62, were injured.


Nguyen Duc, the 36-year-old driver of the car, also sustained injuries.


The victims were rushed to Cam Ranh General Hospital, where they were provided first aid, and later transferred to Khanh Hoa General Hospital at their request.


They suffered sprains and other minor injuries, according to the hospital.


Local police are still investigating the incident.


Khanh Hoa's department of foreign affairs has informed the Embassy of the Netherlands in Hanoi of the accident.
