Two frigates from the Vietnamese People’s Navy docked at a deep-water port in Brunei for a three-day visit on Wednesday.
The 228 officers and sailors aboard the HQ-011 Dinh Tien Hoang and HQ-012 Ly Thai To led by Rear Admiral Nguyen Van Kiem, the navy's deputy chief of staff, were warmly welcomed by officers from the Royal Brunei Navy during a ceremony held at the Port of Muara, Brunei's only deep-water port.
Brunei represents the second leg of the Vietnamese frigates’ port visit to three Southeast Asian countries – Indonesia, Brunei and the Philippines – this month.
The crews will take part in friendship and exchange activities with officers and sailors from the Royal Brunei Navy.
