Vietnam to attend G-20 summit

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung will attend the group of 20 major economies (G-20) summit in South Korea this Thursday, the foreign ministry has announced.

 

As the president of ASEAN, Vietnam will work with G-20 member countries to solve economic problems and global development issues at the two-day meeting.

 

Dung will also propose establishing a cooperative mechanism between G-20, international economic organizations and ASEAN member states.

 

He has also called for an acceleration of the trade negotiation process in Doha, which is scheduled to end next month.

 

The Doha Development Round or Doha Development Agenda was initiated by the World Trade Organization to lower trade barriers around the world.
