Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang and his spouse will attend the 23rd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Manila, the Philippines next week, the Vietnam News Agency reported Wednesday.
Established in November 1989, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) group now comprises 21 economies, representing around 39 percent of the world’s population, 57 percent of total global GDP and 47 percent of international trade
Attending the event from November 17 – 19 will be leaders of the APEC member economies, plus the president of Colombia, who will have observer status.
Presidents Barack Obama of the United States, Vladimir Putin of Russia, Xi Jinping of China and Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will also attend, AFP reported Tuesday.
