Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung met with Cambodian counterpart Samdech Hun Sen in Phnom Penh on Saturday and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

According to a report on the government's news website, the prime ministers said friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia have continued to develop rapidly in all fields, from politics and economics to culture and education.

Dung and Hunsen also acknowledged great efforts of both countries in border demarcation and marker planting over the past years, saying they would boost bilateral ties and promote peace.

PM Dung, who was visiting Cambodia, expressed his concerns over complicated developments on the Cambodia-Thailand border.

Vietnam hopes the two sides restrain themselves to avoid conflict and continue to solve differences through peaceful negotiations in the interests of their citizens as well as peace in the region and the world, he said.
