An all-around strategic partnership with China is one of the priorities of Vietnam's diplomatic policies, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said Wednesday.
Receiving a Chinese Party delegation in Hanoi, Trong also said he was glad that the countries have overcome problems to maintain their relationship and develop it to benefit the people and promote peace in the region and the world, the Vietnam News Agency reported.
Head of the visiting delegation, Liu Yunshan, Politburo member of the Communist Party of China, said the Chinese government and Party also attached great importance to the development of China's partnership with Vietnam.
He stressed that China's stand is consistent joining hands with Vietnam to solve remaining problems in their relationship to develop and strengthen it in the future.
The delegation was in Vietnam to attend a conference with representatives of the Vietnamese Communist Party.
Launched later the same day, the eighth conference of its kind focused on economic strategies of both countries, the news agency reported.
During the conference, the two sides signed an agreement on the mechanism of cooperation and exchange between the Parties' Propaganda departments, it said.
The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation between the departments in guiding the public about the two countries' relationship, it added.
