Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of Vietnam's Communist Party, continued his visit to China Friday by a meeting with Shenzhen City's party leader, Vietnam News Agency reported.
At the meeting with the Secretary of Shenzhen's Communist Party, Wang Rong, Trong proposed that the Chinese city strengthen cooperation with Vietnamese localities in various fields from investment in infrastructure and urban management, to culture and tourism, so that two parties can make use of their strong points.
The Vietnamese leader also visited an exhibition on the city's achievements over the last 30 years of economic renovation. He then spent time at the headquarters of Huawei telecom technology corporation.
Huawei on the same day signed a memorandum of understanding with Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group to build an information and communications technology center, according to the news agency.
Arriving in Beijing Tuesday, Trong is to conclude his visit on Saturday. During his visit, the two countries have signed several agreements, including one on ground rules for resolving sea issues.
