Vietnam foreign minister to visit China

Vietnam Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh will visit China next week to discuss way tos enhance bilateral relations.

Minh will meet with his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi and several other Chinese leaders during the February 13-15 visit, news web site VnExpress reported.

They will discuss enhanced dialogue at high-level agencies, increased cooperation for mutual benefit, and satisfactory solutions for specific problems between the two countries in order to boost  bilateral as well as China-ASEAN relations, the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Liu Weimin said at a regular press briefing in Beijing.

Liu said China greatly values its relationship with Vietnam.

He said according to China government, a stable and healthy relationship between Vietnam and China is in the fundamental interests of both countries and their people, and will promote peace, stability and development in the region and the world.

China wants to become a fully strategic partner of Vietnam, the spokesperson said.
