Vietnam and Denmark raised their relationship to strategic level during the Crown Prince of Denmark's visit this week, according to a report on the government website.

During a meeting on Monday, the Prince of Denmark and Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung signed a Joint Declaration to establish Vietnam's and Denmark's strategic cooperation in climate change adaptation, environment protection, and developing sustainable energies.

Dung said he expected more support from Denmark in different forms, such as an increase in official development assistance, or ODA, and more scholarship opportunities for Vietnamese students in Denmark.

Prince Frederik André Henrik Christian and Vietnam Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan on Monday witnessed the signing of four cooperation agreements between the two countries on rural environment hygiene and water supply, sea preservation, copyright services management, and public administration and administrative reform between 2012-2015.

The visit marks 40-year relation between the two countries.
