Vietnam celebrates National Day

Party and government leaders as well as high-ranking officials Wednesday gathered in Hanoi to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the National Day (September 2).

Earlier the same day, delegations from the government, the National Assembly, the Central Committee of Communist Party, and the Vietnamese Fatherland Front paid tributes at President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and the Martyr's Memorial.

President Nguyen Minh Triet also welcomed delegations of veterans, experts, and NGOs among others from 21 countries, and invited them to join celebratory activities.

Vietnamese diplomatic missions abroad also held several activities to celebrate the day.
