A US Navy cargo ship has entered Cam Ranh Bay in south central Vietnam for repair.
The USNS Alan Shepard will be anchored at the bay of Khanh Hoa Province until November 20 for minor repairs by Cam Ranh Shipbuilding Company under Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (Vinashin), Saigon Tiep Thi reported.
The boat of 210 meters long and 41,000 tons has 121 crew members aboard.
Cam Ranh Shipbuilding Company, which is located in deep water and near international maritime lines, has received six US Navy cargo ships coming for repair since 2010.
Bui Huu Sy, general director of the company, said the repair has been mostly about regular maintenance to replace outdated parts.
