Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra arrived in Vietnam Wednesday as part of her first ASEAN tour since she took office in August.
The visit is being made at the invitation of Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.
On Tuesday, the Thai PM was hospitalized for food poisoning and instructed a deputy PM to chair a meeting of the National Energy Policy Committee in her place.
She did not cancel her one-day introductory visit to Vietnam, although she has not fully recovered, according to the Bangkok Post.
The Thai PM will discuss with Vietnamese leaders some cooperation programs in the areas of trade, investment and tourism.
She is accompanied by Thai foreign minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul.
Shinawatra had scheduled a visit Vietnam on October 17 but later canceled it because of prolonged flooding in Thailand.
