Terrorists need to be strictly punished for their acts, Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs' spokeswoman Nguyen Phuong Nga said in response to the death of terrorist mastermind Osama bin Laden.

Vietnam protests terrorism and condemns terror in all forms, Nga said at a press conference held Tuesday.

She said Vietnam together with international community will continue fighting against terrorism in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and international laws.

On Sunday US President Barack Obama declared that Al-Quaeda mastermind Bin Laden was killed by US forces in Pakistan, ending a decade-long manhunt since the 9/11 attacks to the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon.
