Russian anti-surface destroyer Bystry docked at Tien Sa Port in the central city of Da Nang on Wednesday for an official three-day visit.
The ship was accompanied by a replenishment oiler and a tugboat, which lay at anchor outside the port.
During their stay, 315 officers and sailors on board the Bystry will make courtesy calls on city authorities and the Vietnam Navy’s 3rd Regional Command, which is headquartered in Da Nang.
The crew is also scheduled to take part in volleyball matches with Vietnamese officers and soldiers and visit famous tourist destinations in Da Nang.
The visit is part of activities to strengthen bilateral defense ties between Vietnam and Russia, local authorities said.
