Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang will visit South Korea November 8-10 at the invitation of his Korean counterpart Lee Myung Bak, Vietnam News Agency reported Tuesday.
After the visit, Sang will fly to Hawaii to attend the 19th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum to be held November 10-13 at the invitation of US President Barack Obama, the news agency said.
In other news, Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung met with Takahiro Yokomichi, Speaker of the Japanese House of Representatives, on Tuesday as part of his official visit to the country.
During the meeting, Dung pledged that Vietnam, as Japan's strategic partner, was willing to provide support to the country in its reconstruction efforts following the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami in March, VNA reported.
According to VNA, that day the PM also had a talk with Otsuji Hidechisa, vice chairman of the Japanese Upper House, and paid a visit to an area heavily damaged in the Tohoku incident and Tohoku University in Natori City, Miyagi Prefecture.
