President Nguyen Minh Triet visits Cambodia

President Nguyen Minh Triet is leading a high-ranking delegation to visit Cambodia at the invitation of Cambodian King Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni.


Triet's three-day visit began Thursday in Phnom Penh after he and a government delegation wrapped up a diplomatic stop in Laos. 


During their Cambodian visit, the delegation will meet with Samdech Chea Sim, President of Cambodian Senate, Samdech Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Royal government, and Ngoun Nhel, Vice-President of the Cambodian National Assembly.


On Friday, following a welcome party thrown by the King, Triet and his wife visited the Freedom Monument and the Monument to Vietnamese voluntary soldiers in Phnom Penh.


Early the same day he attended the opening ceremony of the representative office of Vietnam's national radio broadcaster VOV.


Accompanying Triet are Pham Vu Luan, Minister of Education and Training, and Dao Viet Trung, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, among others.
