The National Assembly will vote to pass three new laws and amendments to a fourth one during the nine-day session opened in Hanoi Monday (March 21), according to a report on the government website.
Legislators are expected to approve the Independent Audit Law, the Capital Law, the Prevention of Human Trafficking Law and amendments to the Civil Procedures Code at the last session of the 12th National Assembly.
The legislative body's new members will be elected this May 22 and hold office for five years.
The assembly will also take a look at reports on the management and use of the social insurance fund last year, which is considered important after the Standing Committee on Social Affairs reported that current regulations would put the fund at risk of losing its balance from 2024, VnExpress reported.
Reports on the enforcement of laws on gender equality as well as the project to invest VND3.5 trillion (US$167.78 million) into the state-owned Vietnam Oil and Gas Group will also be discussed by lawmakers the news website said.
