The National Assembly, Vietnam's legislative body, is expected to pass several new laws during a month long meeting starting next Thursday.

Among the laws to be passed are the Housing Tax Law, the Efficient Energy Use Law, the Food Safety Law, the Law for the Handicapped and the State Bank of Vietnam Law, according to the National Assembly Standing Committee.

The 7th National Assembly meeting will not discuss the Capital Law, Vietnam Sea Law and Public Investment Law as previously planned as more time is needed to prepare the bills, the Standing Committee said Wednesday.

During the meeting legislators will also discuss a plan to build a high speed railway linking Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City as well as a master zoning plan for Hanoi through 2030.
