Japan's Prince Akishino will make his second visit to Vietnam this August 16-23 to research the poultry industry, the Japanese-owned Jiji Press quoted that country's Imperial Household Agency as saying Saturday.

During his private trip, the second son of Emperor Akihito will also visit Mai Chau District in the northern province of Hoa Binh August 18-20 for research on ethnic minority people, the agency said.

Before that, the prince will pay a courtesy call on President Truong Tan Sang in Hanoi on August 17.

Prince Akishino made an official visit to Vietnam in 1999 with his wife Princess Kiko, according to the news agency.
