Ho Chi Minh City official says committed to fair business environment

Ho Chi Minh City’s new Party chief Dinh La Thang has promised to create a fair and healthy investment environment for both local and foreign businesses.
Thang was speaking at a meeting with 25 foreign consuls general on Tuesday afternoon.
He said the city’s leaders are willing to take initiatives to support foreign investors in the city.
“The prosperity of Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City is also the prosperity of countries whose investors have come here for business,” said Thang.
The newly appointed Party chief also promised to meet with each consul general in the coming time to listen and learn about their concerns.

On behalf of the consul delegation, Simon van der Burg, Consul General of the Netherlands, congratulated Thang, also the country's transport minister, on his new position and said they are impressed by his actions, including launching a hotline to receive public opinion.
Thang’s hotline 08 88-247-247 has received thousands of calls and messages since it was launched on February 19. Most were complaints and proposals regarding traffic congestion, security, pollution and administrative reform.
